PHILOSOPHY
THE EXPERIENCE OF LIVING
With a track record spanning from university classrooms to the heat of the construction site, Hondo Studio was created as a bold response to the call of architectural design. We aren't content with mere construction; we immerse ourselves in it, exploring the limits of aesthetics and its tangible impact on the human psyche, what we call: "The experience of dwelling."
Did you know that Neuroarchitecture, an emerging field, reveals how consciously designed spaces can influence our emotions and well-being? At Hondo Studio, we apply these cutting-edge principles, proving that aesthetics are not just adornment, but a powerful tool for improving quality of life.
Our experience has taught us that well-conceived design can reduce stress, foster creativity, and even accelerate recovery in healthcare settings. So, if you're looking for a studio that will elevate your spaces to a new dimension of meaning and functionality, Hondo Studio is your ideal partner.
Architecture isn't just about building; it's about transforming lives.

Architecture is: a constructed art!... (or, as some would say, that costly necessity) that seeks to elevate a pile of bricks and mortar to the sublime. According to the venerable Vitruvius, architecture rests on three pillars: Firmitas, Utilitas, and Venustas. While the first two sound logical enough (who would want a building that's falling apart or useless?), it's the Venustas, the blissful beauty, the aesthetics, that give us headaches.

Neuroarchitecture: When the brain meets concrete
This is where things get scientific (sort of). Neuroarchitecture, the discipline that studies how the built environment and the experience of living based on aesthetics (the Venustas) affect our brains and behavior, offers us some clues about how to create more pleasant and stimulating spaces. Natural light, green spaces, organic forms, and natural materials can have a positive impact on our mood and health. On the other hand, closed, dark, and noisy spaces can generate stress and anxiety.

Art in architecture is not just decoration; it's a powerful tool for reflecting emotions, cultural contexts, and human experiences, fostering empathy and social understanding.
Our methodology combines Neuroaesthetics, Psychology, Semiotics, and Art.
We transform everyday materials into environments that subtly manipulate our mood. We use these disciplines to dissect the human psyche and then reconstruct it in the form of walls, floors, and ceilings.
